Description
This course is designed to train StrongPeopleTM Strong Hearts Leaders to lead StrongPeopleTM Strong Hearts programs in their community. The course will cover how to teach a program including recruitment, preparation, resources, and evaluations. The training will cover all the components of the classes including aerobic activity, nutrition education, goal setting as well as helpful information regarding class facilitation including Motivational Interviewing and leadership styles. A Completion Certificate is required in order to begin teaching a program, and Leaders are required to initiate at least one program in their community within one year of completion.
Qualifications: Please thoroughly read the description of eligibility, experience, and credentials from the Becoming a Strong Hearts Program Leader page before purchasing this training course. You must have a valid CPR Certification and be affiliated with a non-profit organization.
Additional notes: This course will take approximately 4 hours to complete. Access to the course and materials expire after 6 months from enrollment, so the course must be completed before then. The course is made up of video presentations and quizzes and a final exam. You will have one, 1-hour attempt on the final exam and you must get a 90% score to pass. Additional attempts at the final exam can be purchased at an additional cost. The costs of the course also include one hard copy of the Leader Guide, one hard copy of the Participant Guide, and one hard copy of a sample Health Journal for those who pass the course. These resources will be shipped out after the Training Certificate is awarded (please allow 10-14 days for delivery).
